I wasn't so happy with how my last drawing with this character turned out so I decided to have another crack at it. This is the result. It took a good deal longer than normal and has a much larger ammount of layers than I usually use. I'm really happy over-all with how it turned out though, I might use this variation of my shading more in the future.
I love how your backgrounds never look unnatural or forced...you always do an excellent job placing your characters in setting and it's an impressive trait to your work. This is a perfect example. Excellent work.
Thanks, in this case the background is a happy-accident. I'd first drawn it without any real background in mind, but the way that the elbow ended up being inked lended itself really well to her leaning on something. Just what she was leaning on I didn't really know at the time.
Shadowing is perfection (to me anway, but I'm not a great art authority....), and simply a brilliant piece. There's a good reason this is your featured deviation!
